CAM Implants bv started in the mid-eighties as a spin-off from the University
of Leiden with the production of hydroxyapatite powder, and began using
that powder for coating on medical implants. We still produce hydroxyapatite
and use it for coating, but the activities of CAM Implants has increased
tremendously. We can now distinguish 3 main activities. They are divided
into:

<p><b><a name="1"></a>1. Coating services:</b><br>
Today, CAM delivers an excellent coating service for many large producers
of orthopedic, dental and ENT implants. We can offer our customers custom-made
coatings and we examine each implant to advise our customers on the most
appropriate coating. For most of our customers, we can divide our coating
activities into 3 categories, which are: - The high quality and extremely
pure CAMCERAM® hydroxyapatite coatings. - Titanium and Ti-Alloy coatings
- Custom-made products
<p> <b><a name="2"></a>2. Bone-replacement products:</b><br>
Recently, CAM Implants bv introduced a new kind of synthetic bone substitute
under the brand name of CAMCERAM®. CAMCERAM® is a porous bone-graft substitute
that greatly enhances the healing process in intrabony defects. The composition
of CAMCERAM® is a 60/40 ratio of hydroxyapatite/ß-tricalcium phosphate.
<p> <b><a name="3"></a>3. Custom-made products:</b><br>
CAM Implants bv is known worldwide for its excellent quality of bioceramics.
Increasingly, companies involved in the field of biotechnology are searching
for ways to improve their products. CAM Implants is helping its customers
search for the right bioceramic products that can be used as an important
part of newly developed products.
